September 16, 2021) The meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council condemned the Houthi rebels and agreed to continue cooperation for peace and security in the region, reiterating the GCC's common unshakable position on the Palestinian issue. The member states agreed to increase solidarity and cooperation at all levels to address the challenges. According to Saudi media, the 149th meeting of the GCC Foreign Ministers was held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, which was attended by the ministers of the Gulf countries, while Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan led the Saudi delegation in the meeting. The meeting also jointly condemned the attacks by Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia, and the GCC called for continued efforts to promote peace and security in the region. Support for Palestine was also reiterated, with Yemen's foreign minister calling the Houthi uprising a humanitarian crisis and saying the Houthi uprising had created a humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
