ISLAMABAD (news world Latest Newspaper. October 21, 2021): Leading journalist Ansar Abbasi in a report published in Jang newspaper claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had a meeting with Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum. No statement was issued, however, an informed source confirmed that the notification of appointment of Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as the new DG IS is expected in a few days.

The source hoped that this would happen on Friday. He further said that Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum is the only three star general who met the Prime Minister on Wednesday. Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed, the current head of the country's top intelligence agency, will take over his new assignment as Corps Commander Peshawar.


The ISPR had on October 6 announced significant changes in senior positions in the Army. The announced posts included the appointment of Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as DG ISI. On October 14, 2021, Prime Minister Imran Khan dismissed the speculations in this regard. In a meeting of the parliamentary party, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there was no misunderstanding between the government and the army.
