No statement was issued, however, an informed source confirmed that the notification of appointment of Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as the new DG IS is expected in a few days.

The source hoped that this would happen on Friday. He further said that Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum is the only three star general who met the Prime Minister on Wednesday. Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed, the current head of the country's top intelligence agency, will take over his new assignment as Corps Commander Peshawar.
