The first freight train from Pakistan to Turkey will be inaugurated (tomorrow)

 Minister for Railways will inaugurate the freight train from Islamabad Dry Port to Swati Islamabad. The train will carry pink salt, dates and rice.

Islamabad news world Latest - NNI December 20, 2021: The first freight train from Pakistan to Turkey will be inaugurated on Tuesday (tomorrow). The first barter train will carry 3,000 tons of goods to Turkey. Rachawal will be taken, Pakistani train will go to Zahedan, from there containers and goods will be loaded on another train, goods from Islamabad to Turkey will reach in maximum 14 days, if goods are sent by sea, it will take 21 days.

According to sources, after the meeting of the Ministers of Transport and Communications at the 10th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on December 23, 2020, Turkish Minister of Transport Adil Adil Krismeglu announced that freight train service between Istanbul, Tehran and Islamabad would start next year.


After which the project was supposed to start in March 2021 and the freight train was to arrive in Islamabad on March 4 but the project could not be started due to negligence of Pakistan Railways officials.


The train will initially complete the journey in 14 days, after which the duration will be reduced to 11 days and 12 hours. The total freight journey of the three countries is 6543 km. From Istanbul to Iran 1950 km. From Iran to Pakistan border 2603 km. From Iran border to Islamabad the freight train will cover 1990 km.
