January 05, 2022) Preparations for the launch of the second most expensive project in Lahore after the Orange Line train, Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the Gulberg to Motorway Elevated Expressway project, costing a total of Rs 61 billion. Will come According to details, a video link meeting was held in the Chief Minister's House on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the Gulberg to Motorway Elevated Expressway project was approved.

In the video link meeting Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and LDA officials presented the plan. Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal, Chairman P&D Abdullah Khan Sanbal, DG LDA, Chief Engineer LDA gave a detailed briefing.The cost of the project is estimated at Rs. 61 billion.


Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to expedite the work on the project.


It has been reported that the cost of Elevated Expressway mega project has increased by Rs. 11 billion even before the commencement of the project. It was informed that the reason for the increase in cost was the increase in the prices of construction materials for the project. It has also been stated that before the project started, the project was estimated at Rs 50 billion in 2021 last year. Which has now increased to Rs. 61 billion while on the other hand LDA has started preparation of PC-1 of the project as per the new cost. The LDA has claimed that the project will be completed in one year starting from February 2022.
