Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan's ambassador to Kenya, Sayeda Saqlain, Kenyan police officials and doctors are currently present at the dead house in Nairobi.The Pakistani ambassador has identified the late Arshad Sharif.
Pakistan's ambassador to Kenya, Syeda Saqlain, also met with the top officials of Kenya in this regard. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former federal minister Shireen Mazari shared a picture in which the Pakistani official was on the phone while meeting with the top officials of Kenya. Shireen Mazari said that when High Commissioner Saeeda Saqlain was meeting with the Kenyan authorities regarding the murder of Arshad Sharif, the Pakistani High Commission official was playing Candy Crush on the phone.

Apart from this, many users expressed their anger on this picture and demanded strict action against the said official. While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the sudden death of Arshad Sharif in Kenya and has expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson on Monday, the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Kenya received the initial information about the death of Arshad Sharif on the morning of October 24.
According to the statement, the High Commissioner accordingly contacted police officials and senior officials from other departments besides the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Office of the Vice President of Kenya was also contacted for confirmation. Pakistanis of Kenyan origin were also mobilized, the statement added, informing the mission that the body was at Chiromu Funeral Home in Nairobi. According to the statement, the High Commissioner reached there along with the officers of the mission and identified the dead body of Arshad Sharif.
Acting Foreign Secretary met Arshad Sharif's family and while confirming this sad news expressed his heartfelt condolences on behalf of Foreign Minister and Minister of State for External Affairs. All possible assistance is assured. According to the statement, further action including the police report is awaited, the High Commission will facilitate the early repatriation of Arshad Sharif's body in collaboration with the host authorities.
